Charles' getting multimedia keys working - for the Gateway MX7120
[edit] Introduction
The Gateway MX7120 has 3 multimedia keys and 3 keys to provide email, help, and a magnifier. Any of these keys are assignable to just about anything. Assigning keys in Gnome is quite easy. I ran into a couple of dead ends trying to do more difficult processes using xev. Thanks to Codeidol's Customizing Gnome for leading me in the right direction. Visit Codeidol's site at (http://codeidol.com/unix/fedora/Using-Fedora-on-Your-Desktop/Customizing-GNOME/).
[edit] Keyboard Shortcuts
- click System -> Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts
When the Keyboard Shortcuts appear click the Action you want (for example Sound and volume down), then click on one of the multimedia keys to assign it to that action!
