These are general problems I have with the Gateway MX7120 hardware, not Linux's ability to address hardware.

[edit] Quality problems

  • The Enter key that keeps coming off. Since this is one of the most commonly used keys, having it simply pop off is a royal pain, even if it is easy to snap back on.
  • Power connector pin seems thin and cheap. I expect this pin would probably break the first time someone tripped over the power cord.
  • The CF insert is weak.

[edit] Usability problems

  • The battery release works too good! When I set the notebook down and picked it up again I accidentally released the battery.
